New B&W 600 series available now
The current 600 series has been a huge success for B&W and has claimed many awards over the last ten years. Although many improvements have been made during this time, the fundamental look of the products has remained the same and today still looks amazingly fresh, so why fix something that’s not broken?
Inevitably there comes a time when a design like the current 600 series can no longer be taken forward and the new 600 series represents a quantum leap into new areas of performance, style and quality of finish not previously available at such an affordable price point.
This introduction is not for those who revel in technical details as such things become meaningless when put beside a good demonstration and having heard these speakers I can say that they do represent a marked improvement over the previous generation. The similarities to the new CM series show the influence these successful speakers have had and the incorporation of many aspects of 800 series technology make themselves known delivering extra bandwidth and lower colouration.
The Kevlar mid/bass driver remains albeit with a lighter open cast chassis but the all new aluminium dome tube tweeter offers better frequency response via the implementation of many features employed in the top of the range 800 series. Compact rigid cabinets, including design elements derived from the CM series, ensure the range benefits from a facelift that will guarantee the new 600 series will be a graceful compliment to any living area.
